Peace, please!

Recently I have been studying international relations in an attempt to better understand the conditions on our planet, and the reasons why there is so much suffering and strife.   At the same time, I am studying the yogic teachings and principals, in order to cultivate my own sense of inner peace, and also in order to share these  teachings with others.  I feel that this is one small way of creating more peace and tranquility in the world.  In the tradition of non-violent demonstration, Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Peace Pilgrim, and others sought to show the world that there are better ways to deal with disagreement and conflict, and that human beings are capable of choosing a peaceful, just society.
While reading a book called "The Eight Human Talents" by Gurmukh and Cathryn Michon, I discovered a passage regarding the importance of balance between the head and the heart.  These two different energies flow across the throat chakra, enabling us to "speak our truth, with compassion and kindness".  I received the insight that it is a disconnect between the head and the heart that allows for man's inhumanity to man on this planet. The men who created the atom bomb had developed their intellect at the cost of their hearts.  This disconnect is created by fear.
We can no longer allow fear, and the language of fear and power to dominate international politics.  The language and rhetoric of power and security must be replaced by a language of compassion and cooperation.  An economy of greed must be replaced by an economy of mutual aid. If  we can create a fifth chakra healing on a global scale, war, and nuclear weapons will become obsolete.  We must say no to fear.  Throughout time people have received these insights and the knowledge is growing.  Global healing now!
